Please join us on Saturday May 18, 2024 at 3pm for the 7th Annual Grassroots Gardens Spring 5K, 10K, and15K races! The event is being brought to you by iRunWNY and LaSalle Vineyard & Community Garden to raise funds and awareness for WNY Grassroots Gardens. All three distances being offered feature beautiful and scenic views of the upper Niagara River. Our 15K course that runs from LaSalle Waterfront Park to Goat Island and Niagara Falls is USATF certified (see map below).
Grassroots Gardens WNY is a determined group of activists who educate and lead committed neighborhood gardeners. They collaboratively cultivate and manage more than 300,000 square feet (and growing) of green space in Buffalo including the beautiful LaSalle Vineyard Garden located on Buffalo Avenue in Niagara Falls, NY.
START/FINISH
All three races will start and finish at LaSalle Waterfront Park using the USATF certified course maps shown below. We will have two water stations setup near the 5K and 10K turnarounds. Park officials will open the restrooms at LaSalle Waterfront Park and we will also place a portable toilet on the course at the 10K turnaround.

REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP
Online registration will remain open right up until the start of each race or until sold out. Packet pickup and race day registration will take place at LaSalle Waterfront Park prior to the race. All participants who register by 5/13/24 at 9am are guaranteed to receive an official Grassroots Gardens shirt in their desired size. We will order a limited quantity of extra shirts in a variety of sizes that will be made available during checkout on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are gone.
Participants will also receive a brand new Grassroots Gardens keepsake finisher gift (TBD) when they cross the finish line!

If you prefer to mail in your registration, please download both the race waiver and appropriate USATF liability waiver below and mail to the address shown. You must complete and mail BOTH waivers to the address shown on the waiver along with your check payable to iRunWNY. Paper applications must be received by 5-16-24.

POST RACE CELEBRATION
NEW FOR 2024: Race participants are invited to celebrate at LaSalle Vineyards & Community Garden where they will be grilling up some delicious food and providing post race beverages! The gardens are a short 4-5 minute walk from LaSalle Waterfront Park.
Beautiful & Scenic Course Along the Upper Niagara River
AGE GROUPS & AWARDS
Hand crafted trophies will be presented to the 1st place overall male and female finishers in all three races. Age group award winners will receive a decal to recognize their accomplishment that can be affixed to their keepsake gift. Participants can also download custom finisher certificates from the event page and view/share finish line photos following the race!
14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and older.
PARKING
There is limited parking at LaSalle Waterfront Park. Once that lot is full, participans can park on nearby side streets and walk over to the packet pickup tent at LaSalle Waterfront Park. Additional parking available at LaSalle Vineyards too!

CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event of foul weather, public safety concerns, or for any other reason deemed necessary by race organizers (ex: state of emergency, shelter-in-place, limit on social gatherings, etc) we want runners to know up front that we reserve the right to reschedule the event date if needed OR convert this to a virtual event. There will be no refunds.

TIMING & FINISH LINE SERVICES
Professional timing and finish line services using industry leading Jaguar Electronic RFID timing will be provided by Race Management Solutions. Results are updated throughout the race in real time and can be accessed at any time after crossing the finish line using any one of the following options:
